Michael Nelson, 57 of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Mercy Health Paducah.

A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Hamletsburg Cemetery in Brookport, IL with military rites. If you would like to follow the procession, please be at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home in Metropolis at 9 am.

Michael was a United States Army veteran.

Michael is survived by his daughter, Pamela Denton and husband Isaac; son, Joshua Nelson; grandchildren, Piper and Lydia Denton; brothers, David Nelson (Carmen) and Ricky Nelson (Karen); nieces and nephew, Courtney Compos (Zac), Christina Bailey and Dalton Nelson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Gene Nelson; mother and stepfather, Pamela Lee (Slack) & Allen Williamson.
