Mr. Melvin William Bremer, age 86, of Metropolis, IL, passed away Monday, June 15, 2015 at the Metropolis Rehab and Health Care Center.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2015, at Zion United Church of Christ with Dr. James Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion UCC Cemetery.Melvin is survived by one brother, Truman Bremer of Metropolis; one nephew, Stanley Bremer and wife Tonya of DeSoto, IL; one great nephew, Lucas Bremer and wife Mollie of West Frankfort, IL; one great niece, Mallory Tully and husband R.J. of DeSoto, IL; one great-great nephew, Tripp Tully of DeSoto, IL.He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Annie (Wessell) Bremer; four brothers, Norman, Lindell, Robert and Kenneth Bremer; two sisters, Deloris Buchanan and Verona Krueger.Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m. at the Zion United Church of Christ.
