Mrs. Mattie L. Hooks, age 82 of Metropolis, IL passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at her son's home in Lawton, OK.Funeral services will be at 1:00P.M. Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Faith Luthern Church in Metropolis with Bro. John Kiehl officiating. Burial will follow at the Antioch Cemetery in Rosebud, IL. She is survived by two daughters; Janet Jeffords and husband Bill of Marion, Il, Sheila Strong and husband Jack of Metropolis, four sons; Terry Hooks and wife Judy of Metropolis, William "Billy" Hooks, Robin Hooks and wife Delane of Metropolis, and Glenn Hooks and wife Antonella of Lawton, OK, two brothers and three sisters, 20 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren; special former daughter-in-law, Terri J. Hooks. She was preceded in death by her parents L.S. (Gus) and Lurline (Knight) Borne, her husband Glenn Lamarr Hooks, one brother, three sisters, one daughter Sharon R. (Hooks) Early, one son Danny L. Hooks, and one granddaughter, Hailey Madison Hooks. Visitation will be from 11:00A.M until the funeral hour on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Faith Lutheran Church in Metropolis. Pallbearers will be Billy Jeffords, Benjy Jeffords, Bobby McCoy, Steven Schmidt, Tony Beck, Jim Waldrop, and Robin Hooks.Music will be provided by Sherry Hunerkoch, pianist/organist.Miller Funeral Home of Metropolis is in charge of arrangements.
