Mrs. Mary Wells, age 96, of Metropolis, IL, formerly of rural Grand Chain, IL, passed away at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2015 in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens. Rev. Gerell Cain will officiate. Burial will follow. There will be no visitation. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.Mary was a member of the Oak Grove Methodist Church, a homemaker and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.Mary is survived by one daughter, Wilma Richardson and husband Lloyd of Springfield, IL; one son, William "Willie" Wells and wife Angie of Karnak, IL; three granddaughters, Karen Shultz of Springfield, IL, Stacey Westbrooks and Alison Bishop both of Metropolis; seven grandchildren, Kinsley and Kreston Shultz Springfield, IL, Owen, Mason, and Grant Westbrooks and Katie and Emery Bishop all of Metropolis; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ollie McDonough; husband, William W. Wells Sr., seven sisters; four brothers.Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association 425 S.
