Mary Viola Triplett, age 85 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away on April 2, 2021 at the Henderson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Henderson, Kentucky.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at IOOF Cemetery in Metropolis, Illinois with Bro. Justin Wolfe officiating.

Mary was born on June 5, 1935 in Dyersburg, Tennessee the daughter of the late Eli and Bell Douglas. Mary liked to read her bible and listen to old southern gospel music. She loved the Lord and everyone knew it. When she wasn't sleeping, she was singing.

Mary is survived by her children, James Willard Triplett of Dixon, TN, Dwayne Edward Triplett of Henderson, KY, and Geraldine Sellars of Henderson, KY; daughter-in-law, Evelyn Triplett of Henderson, KY; sisters, Daisy Spencer of Metropolis, IL and Bobbie Pollis of Martin, TN; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jesse Willard Triplett; sisters, Hazel Sawyers, Elsie Rucker, and Margie Riggs.

There will not be any visitation. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the services.
