Mary Jean Pace Proffitt, age 94 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 2:35 am on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Antioch Cemetery in Rosebud, IL. Dr. Joe Buchanan will officiate. Jean was a member of the First Baptist Church of Metropolis and the Flight 9 Jayco camping club. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Lula Chaney Gross; 1st husband, Earl Pace; 2nd husband, Norman Proffitt; an infant son; sister, Gladys Jennings. There will not be any visitation. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.
