Mary Ruth Medley, age 94, of Metropolis, IL, passed away at 8:24 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2014 at Massac Memorial Hospital.Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2014 in the Seven Mile Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Siere officiating. Burial will follow. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother and a member of the Eastland Life Church.She is survived by 4 daughters, Trudy Christian of Metropolis, Julia Garner of Albuquerque, NM, Debra Medley of Belknap, IL, and Mary Beth Parmer of Metropolis; 3 sons, Joseph Paul Sherdow and wife Julie of Spokane, WA, Mike Medley and wife Nora of Metropolis, and Patrick Medley and wife Karen Metropolis; 13 grandchildren, Clay Wade Garner of Albuquerque, NM, Steven Troy Bartlett of Houghton, LA, David Christian of Metropolis, Paul Winfield of Hutson, WI, Jason Garner of Albuquerque, NM, Chasidy Farmer Metropolis, Carrie Myers of Metropolis, Heather Clifton of Paducah, Ricky Parmer of Metropolis, Whitney Medley Bechtel of Paducah, Matt Medley of Minot, ND, Cassey Wilkins of Metropolis, and Tyler Medley of Metropolis; 26 Great-Grandchildren; 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren; sister, Monica Maher of Hilton, MI; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Erma (Colby) Trapp; husband, Warren G.
