Marilyn Steele 60, of Metropolis went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Southgate Nursing Home in Metropolis, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be at 1:00P.M. On Monday, November, 21 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Bill Schierbaum officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Ridge Cemetery She was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Steele is survived by one son, Jeremy Legereit of Metropolis, one sister, Joyce Ann Waddell of Metropolis, two aunts; Carol Schierbaum, and Margi Logan, three uncles; Delbert Sullivan, Jerry Sullivan, and Scott Sullivan; ½ sister, Gerri Lewis Bennett; as well as two nephews Westin Mescher and Preston Mescher. She was preceded in death by her parents Silas and Rosalie Whitley and Bill Lewis, as well as one Uncle Tommy Sullivan; her husband, John Steele and a ½ brother, Lester Lewis. Visitation will be from 11:00A.M. Monday until the Funeral hour at the Church. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Legereit, Westin Mescher, Preston Mescher, Terry Brown, Wes Logan, and Mike Stubblefield. Honorary Pallbearer is James Ashley Legereit Aikins Farmer Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
