Margie Dell (May) Bailey, 79, of Metropolis, IL, passed away at 11:37 pm on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Mercy Health Lourdes.

Funeral services will be at 11 am on Friday, January 17, 2020, at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home in Metropolis with Rev. David Deem officiating. A private burial will be held later.

Margie was retired from Harrah's Casino as a housekeeper and a member of Weaver Creek Baptist Church.

Margie is survived by 2 sons, James Alan Bailey and wife Mindy and Daniel Lee Bailey; 5 grandchildren, Daniel Bailey, Kinsey Bailey, Stephen McGill, Scott McGill and wife Sara and Deanna McGill; 2 great grandchildren, Kegan McGill and Reece McGill; her twin sister, Martha Schafer; brother, Harold "Doc" May; sister-in-law, June Sielbeck and husband Don; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Libert F. and Marietta Clark (Shewmaker) May; daughter, Elizabeth Susan "Libby" Bailey; brother, Garland Schewmaker.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening, January 16, 2020 from 6 to 8 pm at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.
