Mr. Lloyd Lewis, age 89, of Metropolis, IL, died Monday, January 22, 2018 at his home with his loving family by his side. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, January 26, 2018 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Emmerson officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens with military rites. Mr. Lewis was an Army veteran and a member of the Masonic Lodge Post 91. He was retired after 33 years from Allied Chemical. Lloyd was a Christian who enjoyed working in the body shop, hunting, fishing, horses, dancing, motorcycle riding, and spending time with his family. Lloyd is survived by his wife of 63 years, Hazel Lewis of Metropolis; three children, Lloyd Dwain Lewis, Jackie Dale Lewis and wife Judy, and Melanie Kay Lewis all of Metropolis; nine grandchildren, Brooke Johnson, Vanesa Sickling, T.J. Runkle, Jessica Evans, Daniel Lewis, Jenny Beach, Jared Oliver, Jesse Owens, and Krystal Crawford; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; one sister, Norma Jean McNichols; one brother, Danny Lewis; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Agnes Lewis; three grandchildren, Leslie Lewis, Landon Lewis and Justin Oliver; seven siblings, Lester Lewis Jr., Jewel Oliver, Charles Lewis, Earl Lewis, Donnie Lewis, William Lewis, Jimmy Lewis. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 6-8pm at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Masonic Rites at 6pm.
