Mr. Leonard "Ben" Copley, age 98 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 1:50 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at the Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis, Illinois. Rev. Alan Milligan will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kingston Cemetery in Massac County, Illinois.Leonard was born on February 8, 1916 in Massac County, Illinois to John Freeman and Anna (Borman) Copley. He worked at Hinners Brothers Hardware as a television repairman and was a retired farmer. He was a lifelong member of Powers United Methodist Church, as well as a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.Leonard is survived by his daughter, Linda Lange and husband Harold of Metropolis, IL; son-in-law, Tracy Suttles and wife Cindy of Metropolis, IL; 3 grandchildren, David Lange and wife Rhonda of Kevil, KY, Elly Nelson and husband Paul of Brookport, IL, and Ben Suttles and wife Alana of Taylorsville, KY; 3 great grandchildren, Justin Lange of Kevil, KY, Emma Nelson, and Abby Nelson both of Brookport, IL; several nieces and nephews.Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, John Freeman and Anna (Borman) Copley; wife of 64 years, Loretta Elizabeth Copley; daughter, Donna Suttles; 2 sisters, Allegra Kipp and Mabel Anderson; and an infant brother.Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2014 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis, Illinois.Memorials may be made to the Kingston Cemetery Fund, c/o Tracy Suttles, 5915 Powers Church Road, Metropolis, Illinois 62960.Pallbearers will be Ben Suttles, David Lange, Paul Nelson, Tracy Suttles, Gary Krueger, and Mike Williamson.
