God gained another beautiful angel when LaVine Pike Kirby of Karnak IL, formally of Earlville IL, passed away at her home on February 24th, 2022. She was born January 13th, 1946 the daughter of Rev. Richard and Onie Pike of Earlville IL. She fell in love and married Daniel E. Kirby. They shared 48 wonderful years together before God called Daniel home. LaVine enjoyed a life of doing what she did best, caring for others. She owned and operated Tender Loving Care ALH in Metropolis IL until she retired in 2012. LaVine believed in telling everyone you love them and hugs were always free. You couldn't leave her house without an I love you and one of her hugs. She didn't know a stranger. LaVine was a spitfire and loved bringing laughter and wisdom to the lives of others.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, March 6th, 2022 at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home in Metropolis with Bro. Shane Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Ridge Cemetery.

LaVine is survived by son-in-law, Barry R. Mumm; daughter and son-in-law, James and Karla Kirby Jones of Karnak, IL; daughter, Kelly M. Kirby of Sandwich, IL; son, James D. and Stacey Kirby of MI; grandchildren, Brian Joshua and Barry Jacob Mumm of WI, Kimberly S. Jones, Danielle M. Collins, Lori A., Kathy M., Janie L., Melissa N., and James P. Jones of Karnak, IL, Tifani M. and Amber R. Barringer of IL, Georgia G. and Daniel E. of WI, Brenae Y., Kristin M., and Jaden G. Moiles of MI; and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Kathy Kirby Mumm; 2 sisters; and 2 brothers.

Visitation will be held on Saturday evening, March 5th, 2022 at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
