Kenneth Dale Brooks, age 77 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 1:10 pm Friday, April 24, 2026 at his residence.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Weaver Creek Baptist Church with Pastor John Larrison officiating.

Kenneth was a retired engineer working in the river industry. He was a member of Weaver Creek Baptist Church, American Legion, National Rifle Association, and served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam war.

Kenneth is survived by his sisters, Amy DeMoss and Melinda Turner and husband Rod; several nieces and nephews; step son, Kenneth Crowder and wife Theresa; step grandchildren, Ashley Franks and Christopher Crowder.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Gene Dale and Elinor Nellie (Thompson) Brooks; wife, Fonda Joyce (Jackson) Brooks; step daughter, Vicki Lewis.
