Obituary
Karla Sawyers, age 62, of Metropolis, IL passed away on Sunday June 2, 2013 at Western Baptist Hospital.Karla was born on July 11, 1950 to Ira William Englehardt and Velma Louise Lowry.She retired from Southgate Nursing Home as a registered nurse. She was a loving mother with a passion for nursing and helping others. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Round Springs Cemetery with Rev. Shane Baker officiating.She survived by one daughter Keri Sawyers of Metropolis, two sons Michael Sawyers of Metropolis and Monty Englehart of Metropolis. She survived by her mother Velma (Lowell) Ashford of Metropolis and one sister Kathy (John) Steele of Metropolis, 6 grandchildren, 2 nieces, 1 nephew, 1 great nephew, and a special friend, George Owens of Metropolis.She was preceded in death by her father Ira Englehardt.Miller Funeral Home of Metropolis is in charge of arrangements.
