Julia Nutty Pritchett, age 89 of Joppa, Illinois passed away at 7:08 pm on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at Reflections Memory Care surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home in Metropolis with Bro. David Wright of Joppa Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
Julia was born in Massac County near New Columbia, IL to Ned and Ruth (Crider) Nutty on July 3, 1934. After graduating from Metropolis High School, she worked for the State of Illinois and Electric Energy, Inc. She married Cline L. Pritchett on January 11, 1955 at New Hope Baptist Church in New Columbia, Illinois. They were married 62 years before his passing in 2017. She worked as a RN for Lourdes Hospital where she retired in 1996. She was a longtime member of Joppa Missionary Baptist Church. She and Cline camped and took many trips with friends and family over the years.
Julia is survived by her son, Steve Pritchett and wife Marla; daughter, Nancy Beck and husband Jeff; and son, Joe Pritchett; sisters, Betty Travis, Mary Stratemeyer, Linda Windhorst and husband Jerry, Sue Elting and husband Lee, Connie Edwards and husband Don; brothers, Bill Nutty and wife Christine and Dan Nutty and wife Bonnie; grandchildren, Karen Wong and husband Eric, Kevin Beck and wife Lindsey, Courtney Kaaz and husband James, Mallory Soto and husband Esteban; great grandchildren, Stephanie Kaaz, Isaac Soto, Diego Soto; as well as many family members and friends.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents, Ned and Ruth (Crider) Nutty; husband of 62 years, Cline L. Pritchett; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Travis, Leonard Stratemeyer, Victor Pritchett, and Frank Pritchett; sisters-in-law, Inez Pritchett, Shirley Pritchett; niece, Sharon Pritchett Donovan.
Visitation will be held from 11 am until the funeral hour at 2 pm on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Paul Pritchett, Greg Elting, Brian Edwards, Granvil Travis, Aidan Carnes, and James Kaaz.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Les Little and Duane Windhorst.
Memorials may be made in Julia's name to Joppa Missionary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 276, Joppa, Illinois 62953.
