Mrs. Judy Burkett, age 69 of Metropolis, IL formerly of Spring Valley, IL passed away at 8:00 am on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at her residence.A memorial service will be held at 4 pm on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the First Church of God, 1105 Girard Street, Metropolis, Illinois with a dinner to follow. Pastors Everett and Cindy Shaw will officiate.Judy was a retired nurse with LTV Steel. She was a member to the First Church of God in Metropolis.Judy is survived by her husband Gary Burkett of Metropolis, IL; daughter, Jeannie Kelley; granddaughter, Jessica Kelley; brother, Henry Wellner of Peru, IL; 13 nieces and nephews.Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Elsie Wellner.Music will be provided by Ramona Barnett, organist/pianist and Cindy Shaw and Tammie Bunting, Soloists.Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis is in charge of arrangements.
