John "Big John" McCutcheon, Jr. age 62 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Mercy Health Lourdes with his family by his side.

Graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at the Metropolis Memorial Gardens with Aden Pegram officiating.

John was retired from Massac Unit 1, where he worked as a Custodian and was of the Christian faith.

John is survived by his wife of 42 years, Denice McCutcheon; children, Johnny McCutcheon, Chris McCutcheon, and Laura Fasolo and husband Josh; grandchildren, Braden Fasolo, Caleb Fasolo, Matthew Fasolo, Samuel Fasolo, Lillian McCutcheon, and Madeline McCutcheon; sisters, Andrea Riepe and husband Vernon and Erin Evans and husband Steve; brother, Jim McCutcheon and wife Shannon; sister-in-law, Marcia McCutcheon; several nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sharon McCutcheon; son, Matthew McCutcheon; sister, Elizabeth Parmley; brother, Robert McCutcheon.

Visitation will be held on Monday evening August 16, 2021 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.
