John (Johnny) Ray Shreve, age 68 of Mayfield, Kentucky, passed away August 27, 2026.

Private services will be held at a later date at the Chapel Hill Cemetery.

Johnny was of Christian faith, he enjoyed the outdoors going hunting and fishing. He enjoyed listening to country and rock music and attending those concerts. He was a great cook, some would say a master of the grill. Johnny enjoyed the special moments with his family and will be greatly missed.

Johnny is survived by his daughters, Catherine Melcher and husband Jonathan and Jennifer (Shreve) Babineaux and husband Markus; son, Boyd Ray Shreve; grandchildren, Michael Ray Melcher, Allison Diane Melcher, and Ethan Joseph Melcher; sister, Iris (Shreve) Garrott; niece, Mary Kate Garrott Chambers; nephew, Byron Garrott.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Ray Pryor and Mary Jo (Cochran) Shreve; grandchild, Jordan Melcher.
