John Hudson, age 76, of Paducah, KY, passed away at 10:38 p.m. on August 1, 2013 at his residence.A private graveside service will be held at a later date.John was a school crossing guard at Paducah Middle and Clark Elementary Schools. He was dearly loved by his students to which he was known as the "man in the hat."John is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary (Henson) Hudson of Paducah, KY; 2 daughters, Deidre Savage and husband Larry and Tammi Moore and husband Mike both of Paducah, KY; 2 sons, John Hudson and wife Balinda of Paducah, KY, and Doug Street and wife Sandy of Simpson, IL; 8 grandchildren, Amanda Tucker and husband Jason, Rachel Sutton, Chris Eaton, Cody Savage, Matt Moore, Charley Moore, Jessie Street and Shawn May; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Gertrue (Barrett) Hudson; brother, Dewey Hudson, and sister, Betty Terry.Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Aikins Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis.Memorial contributions may take the form of donation to the National Stroke Association 9707 East Easter Lane Centennial, CO 80112 or a charity of your choosing.
