Joe Ed Klankey age 99 of Brookport, IL passed away Thursday Sept. 19, 2013 at the Lourdes Hospital in Paduah, KY. Jo Ed was born August 17, 1914; he was the son of Clara Klankey.Funeral services will be Sunday Sept. 22, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Aikins-Farmer Brookport Chapel with Scott Darnell officiating, burial will follow in the Pell Cemetery.Joe Ed is survived by three sons, Bobby Klankey and wife Margaret of Paducah, KY, Jimmy Klankey and wife Joanie and Gary Klankey both of Brookport, IL.Two step daughters, Kathy Baker and Janet Tucker both of Brookport, IL, two step sons, Thomas Tucker of Brookport, IL and Mike Tucker of Cambell, MO.11 grandchildren, Tammy Brown, Tim Klan key, Rick Klankey, Kayla Ciefli, Kristal Carpenter, Julie Hite, Brent Fredrickson, Tammy Jackson, Lee Edminson, Justin Baker, Daniel Baker; 10 great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his mother, 1st wife Ruby (Medley) Klankey and his 2nd wife Mildred (Rose) KlankeyJoe Ed was of the Baptist faith; he worked as a commercial fisherman in Kentucky and Illinois. He loved the outdoors.Friends may call at the Brookport Chapel Sunday Sept. 22, 2013 from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour at 2 p.m.
