Ms. Jeanne Fowler, age 77, of Metropolis, IL passed away at 5:25 am on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Memorial services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis. Rev. Jon Cockrel will officiate. Jeanne was born and raised in Metropolis. She was an educator in the state of Illinois for over 40 years and returned to her native Metropolis following her retirement. Jeanne attended the First United Methodist Church of Metropolis. Jeanne is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth "Libby" Krumrey and her husband Bill of Cape Coral, FL and Chris Fowler Wiedeman of Metropolis, IL ; one brother, Robert Fowler and his wife Terri of Port St. Lucie, FL; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, B. D. "Mike" and Letha Mae (Cummins) Fowler; Step-mother, Joan Fowler and nephew, Michael Krumrey. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013 from 1 pm to 2 pm at the Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis. Memorials may be made to COPE Food Pantry, P. O. Box 761, Metropolis, Illinois 62960.
