Mrs. Jeanette Farmer, age 92, of Metropolis, IL passed away Friday March 8, 2019 at Lakes of Paducah Assisted Living Center surrounded by her family.

Jeanette was born September 13, 1926 to Samuel and Laura (Fields) Patton.  She was married to Owen (Steve) Farmer who together owned and operated Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home, Miller Funeral Home and the Brookport Chapel.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and an active member of the Altar Guild.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol (Brad) Belt of Marion, IL, Karen (Victor) Holland of Metropolis; one son, Richard (Kim) Farmer of Metropolis; one daughter-in-law, Sandy Farmer of Metropolis; eight grandchildren, Bryan Miller, Emily Loftus, Rachael Gower, Ethan Farmer, Alex Holland, Anna Holland, Wesley Farmer, Hayden Farmer; four great grandchildren, Lincoln, Owen, Sloane, and Haydn; sister, Laura Dalati of Rodgers, Arkansas; one brother, Clifton Patton of Las Vegas, along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen (Steve) Farmer; son, Steven Farmer; four sisters, Belva McElhanney, Marian Settler, Joy Bledsoe, Jo Settler; one brother, Frank Patton, and her parents.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 12 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Metropolis with Rev. Timothy A. Bean and Rev. David Deem officiating.  Burial will follow in Massac Memorial Gardens in Metropolis.  Visitation will be Monday, March 11 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home in Metropolis and at the church Tuesday, March 12 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.  Pallbearers will be Bryan Miller, Alex Holland, Wesley Farmer, Hayden Farmer, Ethan Farmer and Justin Wolfe.  Honorary Pallbearers, Lance Loftus and Drew Gower.
