Dorothy Jean Travis, age 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Jean was born to Maynard and Cora (McBride) Lindsey on June 22, 1930 in Massac County.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Forthman Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Masonic #10 cemetery in New Columbia.

Jean was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Jean is survived by her children, Bobby Travis and wife Debra, David Travis and wife Marcy, Patty Reaves and husband Allen; Richard Travis and wife Brenda, Perry Travis and wife Carole, Jim Travis and wife Jimmilynn, and John Travis and wife Kandy; sister, Judy Troutt; one sister-in-law, Ina Mae Lindsey; several nieces and nephews. She was Granny Jean to 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Maynard and Cora Lindsey; and 2 brothers, Maynard Jr. and Billy Joe.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 13th from 11 am to 1 pm at the church.
