Jane Elizabeth (Rodgers) Thomas, age 94 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 5, 2015 at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Paducah, Kentucky.Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis. Rev. Buford McGuire and Rev. Mark Staton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.Jane was a member of the Upper Salem Baptist Church.Jane is survived by her daughter, Sharon Thomas Nussman of Metropolis, IL; niece, Virginia Mitchell of Paducah, KY; several great nieces and nephews.Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Edna Mae (Smith) Rodgers; husband, Ward Thomas; sister, Mary Frances Smith.Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 12 pm to 2 pm at the Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis, Illinois.Pallbearers will be Dorris Thomas, Frank Forthman Jr., Everett Duncan, Charlie Rickman, Guy Wilcox, and Jerel Childers.Music will be provided by Sharon Thomas and Twila Staton.Online condolences may be left at www.aikinsfarmer-millerfh.com.
