Jane Gayle Castleman passed away July 22nd at 6:30 am at her home in Paducah, Kentucky. Jane was born in 1942 to Richard and Georgila Stearns in Louisiana, Missouri.She graduated in 1960 from Aledo High School then attended business college in Springfield, IL, where she met her husband, Bill Castleman and married in February of 1963. They were married 48 years until Bill passed in May of 2011. Jane was of Methodist faith and was baptized in the Ohio River many years ago. Jane was involved over the years in many organizations including legal secretaries, Democrat Women's group, and Homemakers. She was also very talented in tole painting, quilters group and was a member of Decorative painters. Many people remember Jane from her work at the Massac County Court House and the Drivers License Facility. She enjoyed a love of crappie fishing, camping, crafting, reading and nature. She and Bill spent many years watching wildlife from their front porch. Her greatest joy was time spent with her husband, family and friends. She is survived by two children, a daughter Cathy and husband Kevin, and a son Brad and wife Kelley. She had four grandsons: Tony (Stacy), Cody (April), Jacob and Zach (Lavonia). Jane had one great-grandson Hunter Michael. Her grandchildren brought her great joy and she spent as much time as possible sharing her love of nature, playing and loving them from their birth to present. She had a great sense of pride for all of her grandsons. Hunter Mike was a bright ray of sunshine to Jane bringing her great happiness and making her smile through her final days.Jane was preceded in death by her husband Bill, father Richard, mother Georgila and brother Dick.Janie is also survived by her brother Randy (Lisa), sister Debbie, brother-in-law Sam (Judy) and her sister-in-law Mary Jo. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who she loved dearly.The family asks in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the Oak Grove Cemetery fund c/o: Barbara Wells, 1273 Grand Chain Rd, Grand Chain, IL 62941.Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm with services beginning at 4:00 pm on Sunday, July 27th at Aikins Farmer Funeral Home. Pastor Brent Gordon will officiate. Jane will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Methodist Church immediately following.
