Mr. James Arch Walbright, 71, of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont, FL.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Metropolis with Rev. Shalom Renner and Rev. Jon Cockrel officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.Arch attended the Church of God during his youth, was an Army Veteran, a member of the Metropolis American Legion Post 860, and a member of the Local 160 Pipefitters for over 40 years.Arch is survived by his wife, Carolyn Walbright of Metropolis; daughter, Jamie Reames and husband Todd of Metropolis; stepson, John Riegger and wife Jennie and family of Las Vegas, NV; three granddaughters, Maggie Browning, Becca Reames, and Abby Reames all of Metropolis; brother, Calvin Walbright and wife Brenda of Portage, IN; several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Nell Walbright; sister, Judy Walbright; and one nephew.Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Metropolis.Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital PO Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38101-9908.Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.Pallbearers: Steve Fletcher, Kit Owens, Steve Walbright, Chris Walbright, Carl Medley, Danny GoinsHonorary Pallbearers: Charles Peebles, Gary Faulkner
