James O. "Jim" Phelps, age 74 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 12:30 am on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Jim was the retired owner/operator of Jim Phelps Stables, a member of the Ft. Massac Saddle Club, and was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War.

Jim is survived by his cousins, Jerry Phelps and wife Judy and Jay Phelps; nephew, Pat Lassiter; and many friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Orville "Butch" Phelps and Lorraine Lassiter.
