Mr. James R. "Jim" Conley, age 75, of Joppa, IL, went to be with the Lord Sunday, September 3, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Monday, September 11, 2017 at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens with military rites. Visitation will be held from 11am to 12 noon on Monday, September 11, 2017 at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home. Masonic rites will be held at 11:45am and is open to the public. There will also be a memorial service held at 12 noon on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Joppa First Missionary Baptist Church and friends are invited to visitation from 10am until noon. Mr. Conley was a retired Army veteran and a Mason with Masonic Lodge Post 91. He retired from Honeywell and attended Joppa Missionary Baptist Church. Jim most enjoyed spending time with his family. Jim is survived by his wife of almost 35 years, Sharon Conley; three children, Rayette Holland and husband Jeff, Regina Toon and husband Phillip, and Aaron Conley; four stepchildren, James Michael Faulkner, Gary Faulkner Jr., Kerri Bagwell and husband Billy and Todd Faulkner and wife Kim; six grandchildren, Kirsten Faulkner, Garrett Bagwell, Noah Holland, Jalyn Faulkner, Caiden Conley and Hazel Toon; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Palmer John and Maeola (Tucker) Conley; two sisters and two brothers. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society 4503 W.
