Mr. James N. Edwards, age 82, of Brookport, IL, passed away on January 20, 2015 at the Metropolis Rehab and Healthcare Center.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2015, at the Brookport Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Tate officiating. Burial will follow in the Pell Cemetery.Mr. Edwards was a retired Chief Engineer from Artco and of the Baptist faith. James is survived by 1 son, Rock N. Edwards of Brookport, IL; 2 daughters, Gina Knight and husband Roger of Paducah, KY and Brandei Morton and husband Monty of Almo, KY; 1 daughter by choice, Pat Giltner and husband Steve of Unionvillle, IL; 6 grandchildren, Crystal Knight, Racheal Knight, Tyler Morton, Haley Morton, Juliann Edwards, and Jason Edwards; 2 grandchildren by choice, Julie Weaver and husband Jamie and Johnna Lee and husband Russell; 3 great-grandchildren by choice, Hayden Lee, Jackson Lee, and Addyson Weaver; 6 brothers, Ruble Edwards and wife Mary of Las Vegas, NV, Randall Edwards of Ledbetter, KY, Vernon Edwards and wife Martha of Ledbetter, KY, Larry Edwards and wife Rickie of Symsonia, KY, Darold Edwards of Brookport, IL, and Tommy Edwards and wife Debbie of Ledbetter, KY; 2 sisters, Wanda Lane of Brookport, IL, and Betty Jean Inglish and husband David Earl of Possum Trot, KY; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.He was preceded in death by his wife of over 55 years, Barbara; parents, Willie and Betty (Clapp) Edwards; 3 brothers, Billy Edwards, Butchie Edwards, and David Lee Edwards; and 2 sisters, Geraldine Edwards, and Shirley Duncan.Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the Brookport Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Online condolences may be left at www.aikinsfarmer-millerfh.com.
