Mr. Jackie Surrett, age 65, of Metropolis, IL, passed away on August 4, 2015 at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY.A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis with Rev. Shane Baker officiating. Mr. Surrett was a commercial fisherman.Jackie is survived by his mother, Annie Mae "Momma Shorty" Surrett; two children, Jeremy Surrett and companion Amanda Williams and Melissa Baker and husband Michael all of Metropolis; two grandchildren, Paigelyn Hodge and Jocelyn Welker; 1 great grandchild, Adalyn Hodge; two sisters, Wanda Akers and Linda Longmire; several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father, Richard "Jack Donk" Surrett; sister, Ludene Stoneburner.Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15 at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home.Expressions of sympathy may be given to the American Cancer Society 4503 W.
