Mrs. Irene (Meadows) Bradley, age 78, of Metropolis, IL, passed on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah with her loving family by her side.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Church Cemetery in Choate, IL.Irene was a lifelong resident of Metropolis, IL. She graduated from Metropolis High School in 1953. She was a member of the Oak Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a housewife and she wore out two or three cars hauling her kids to school or to athletic events. She wanted to know where they were and what they were doing.Irene Meadows was united in marriage to Mr. Ambus Bradley Jr. on January 1, 1960, and together they raised three children. Irene is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ambus Bradley of Metropolis; daughters, LaDawn Bradley and Michelle Bradley both of Metropolis; son, Craig Allen Bradley and wife Leslie of Karnak, IL; 3 grandsons, Shayne Bradley and wife Rachel, Ryan Bradley and Ethyn Bradley all of Karnak, IL and a host of other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ozie (Bowden) Meadows and 1 infant brother, Frankie Eugene.Friends may call to the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home on Sunday, January 12 from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m.Online condolences may be left at www.aikinsfarmer-millerfh.com
