Mr. Howard Windhorst, age 84, of Joppa, IL, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at the Metropolis Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. A celebration of life will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at the Joppa Missionary Baptist Church in Joppa with Bro. David Wright officiating. Mr. Windhorst was a member of Joppa Missionary Baptist Church and of Masonic Lodge Post 91. Howard is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joyce (Anderson) Windhorst; sons, Everett Dale Windhorst and wife Carol Ann and Michael Lee Windhorst and long-time companion Amy Walker; grandchildren, Anthony Dale Windhorst and wife Misty and Eric Lee Windhorst; one great granddaughter, Sophie Blanche Windhorst. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Everett and Blanche (Loven) Windhorst; sister, Naomi Johnson. Memorial contributions may be given in Howard's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Arrangements are entrusted to Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home in Metropolis.
