Mr. Howard A. Sutton Jr. (Dae Dae), age 63, of Joppa, IL, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Baptist Health Paducah after a long illness. Dae Dae was born January 14, 1954 in Mermet, IL to Howard and Helen Sutton, Sr. He graduated from Joppa High School. Dae Dae was baptized in his late teen years at Broadway Church of Christ. In his working years he was employed at Union Carbide, Allied Chemicals and James Marine. He was certified as a nuclear welder. Dae Dae enjoyed and participated in many hobbies such as hunting, fishing, camping, grilling, photography, antiquing, watching Western movies and sporting events. His pride and joy was riding his Heritage Softail Harley motorcycle with the country breeze hitting his face. He is survived by his loving mother, Helen E. Sutton of Metropolis, IL; one son, Christopher Sutton of Joppa, IL; one daughter, Kami Sutton Turner of Paducah, KY; four grandchildren, Karter and Aniyah Sutton, Emerson and Addison Turner; five sisters, Audrey Sutton of Las Vegas, NV, Cathy Sutton of Atlanta, GA, Carolyn Sutton of Spain, Bessie Sutton of Bowie, MD, and Patricia Eskridge of Metropolis, IL. He also leaves behind a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard A. Sutton, Sr. and one brother, Tommy E. Sutton. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Broadway Church of Christ, 808 Broadway, Metropolis, IL, with Bro. William D. Hensley officiating. Visitation will be held from 10am until the funeral hour at 12 noon. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery in Metropolis, IL. Arrangements are entrusted to Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis.
