Mrs. Hildegard Maria Deen, age 74 of Carrier Mills, IL formerly of Metropolis, IL passed away at 5:30 am on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at her residence.Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis. Rev. Buford McGuire will officiate. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.Hildegard was a member of Eastland Baptist Church, had formerly operated Hilde's Café, and was a cook at other restaurants.She is survived by 3 daughters, Josie Purvis of Golconda, IL, Heidi Deen of Harrisburg, IL, and Elizabeth Smith of Carrier Mills, IL; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 8 brothers and sisters.She was preceded in death by her parents, Valentino and Anna (Thurn) Sauer; husband, Jason Deen, Sr.; son, Jason Deen, Jr.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 from 12 pm to 1 pm at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis.
