Mr. Herbert Alsip, age 81, of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019, at his residence.

Graveside services will be held at a later date.

Herbert enjoyed restoring old cars and you could find him visiting with his friends at Rubes every morning.

Herbert is survived by his wife, Sorrita of Metropolis; two sons, Jeremy Alsip and Jeffrey Alsip both of Metropolis; three granddaughters, Sarah Bryant and husband Jeff, Jenica Alsip and Morgan Alsip; one great granddaughter, Rebecca Drake; two sisters, Lois Leach of DuQuoin, IL and Joyce Armour and husband Jeff of Selmer, TN; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grace (Crayton) and William Herbert Alsip; three sisters and one brother.

Memorials may be given in Herbert's name to First United Methodist Church c/o Weekend Blessings, 100 E. 5th Street, Metropolis, IL 62960.
