Helen Harris age 89 of Metropolis, IL passed away Friday June 26, 2015 at the Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Metropolis, IL, with her family by her side. She was born February 17, 1926 to Alta and Maggie (Lisaius) Winters.Graveside and burial services will be Sunday, June 28, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the Oak Grove Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Keyes officiating. Mrs. Harris is survived by six children; Linda Johnson and husband Charles; Jean Brown and husband Leroy, Donna Beard and Husband Kenny, Steve Harris and wife Susie, Debra Johnson and husband Stanley, Jeffrey Harris and wife Kathy, 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Three brothers and sisters; Paul Winters and wife Karen, Altie Winters and wife Shirley, and Virginia Davies; several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 63 years Elmer Harris, one grandson, John Harris, Two great great granddaughters, Ivy and Erabella Harris, Two brothers, John and Arlie Winters, and one sister, Hallie Watkins.She was a devoted mother and homemaker, and was of the Baptist faith.
