Helen R. Adams Ferrell, age 86 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 6:50 am on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at the IOOF Cemetery in Metropolis. Rev. Charles Harp will officiate. Helen was retired after 20 years of service from Tennessee Towing where she worked as a cook. Helen is survived by 4 sons, Butch Adams and wife Betty of Metropolis, Mickey Adams of Metropolis, Robert Adams and wife Carman of Golconda, and Rocky Adams of Metropolis; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; 1 nephew, Tommy Harrington of Metropolis. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Judy (Watson) Lee; husband, Ed Adams; grandson, Charlie Gurley; sister, Flossie Harrington; brothers, George and Lester Lee. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening June 20, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm at the Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis, Illinois. Pallbearers will be Rocky Adams, Butch Adams, Mickey Adams, Robert Adams, Ben Adams, Nicholas Adams and Jeremy Adams. Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis.
