Haynes "Bo" Bohannon, 102, of Southfield, Mich., formerly of Metropolis, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012 at his son's home.Graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the Masonic Cemetery in Metropolis. Rev. David Siere will officiate. Haynes was of the Baptist Faith, was a 32nd Degree Mason, and a Shriner. He owned 9-Mile Standard Gas Station in Southfield and served in the Civil Conservation Corp.Survivors include one son, Richard Bohannon and wife Karen of Southfield; one granddaughter, Rhonda Meyers; great grandchildren, Jordan, Tyler, Marissa & Austin Meyers all of Lake Orion, MI; one sister, Nan Swarez of Weeki Wachee, Fla.; step daughter, Judy Prokes and husband Kenny of Milford, MI; step grandchildren, Jimmy Prokes and wife Kelly, Steve Prokes and wife Michelle, Kim Lisch and husband Ronald all of MI; step great grandchildren, Taylor, Nicole, April, Danny, Mark, and Alyssa Prokes, Hannah and Stephanie Lisch; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorsey and Betty Bohannon; four sisters, Annie Mae Bohannon, Betty Lee Morgan, Mildred Evans and Ina Lois Marlman; and two brothers, Wallace and Sonny Bohannon; 1st wife, Jeanetta Ann Taylor Bohannon; 2nd wife, Sylvia Bohannon. Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis is in charge of arrangements.
