Mrs. Grace M. Estes, age 89 of Metropolis, IL passed away at 7:55 am on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at her residence.Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, August 30, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Metropolis. Rev. Joe Buchanan will officiate. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.Grace was a member of the First Baptist Church in Metropolis and a former member of the Volleville Homemakers.Grace is survived by a son, James Estes and wife Marita of Metropolis, IL; step grandchildren, Brent Dupree of Lexington, KY and Candice Banks and husband Terry of Metropolis, IL; step great grandchildren, Tevin, Caitlyn, and Hayden Banks all of Metropolis, IL; nieces, Vera May Huntsinger and husband Dan, Kara Foust and husband Keith and children Rebecca and Aiden Foust all of Gastonia, NC, Nancy Jones and husband Fred, Amy Chesnut and husband Phillip and children Carson and Miles Chesnut all of Paducah, KY, Jessica Luebshaw of Shreveport, LA; nephews, Ted Luebshaw and wife Karen of Metropolis, IL, Davin, Dean, and Matthew Lammey all of Hernando, MS.Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Otto Louis and Ethel Inez (Mitchell) Mittendorf; husband, John Bill Estes; sister, Betty Ruth Karber and husband Bert; sister-in-law, Millissia Estes; nephew, Allan LuebshawVisitation will be held on Thursday evening August 29, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm at the First Baptist Church in Metropolis.Memorial may be made to the First Baptist Church, 307 Massac Creek Road, Metropolis, IL 62960.Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis, IL is in charge of arrangements.
