Genevieve May, age 86 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 12:00 am on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Baptist Health Paducah.

Private graveside services will be held.

Genevieve retired from Massac Memorial Hospital where she was the purchasing supervisor. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and enjoyed quilting.

Genevieve is survived by her husband of 69 years, Wilburn May; daughters, Cathy Childers and husband Paul and Sandy Trail; four grandchildren, Sarah Childers, Andrew Childers, Chad (Holly) Trail and Jackie Harang; one great granddaughter, Anissa Trail; siblings, Neva (Joe) Hicks, Alice Shelby, Brenda (Randy) Langford, John "Sonny" (Wanda) Sullivan, Roger (Ann) Sullivan, Lindell (Mary) Sullivan; several nieces and nephews.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, Coy and Flora (Johnston) Sullivan; son-in-law, Mark Trail; siblings, Valda Johnson, Jane Williams, Louise Reed, Donald Sullivan, and Floyd Sullivan.

Memorials may be made in Genevieve's name to First United Methodist Church, 100 E. 5th Street, Metropolis, IL 62960.
