Gary O. Webb, age 70 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 6:50 am on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at his residence.

Graveside services with masonic rites will be held at 12 noon on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Otterbien Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Bremer officiating.

Gary retired from the Pope County School System where he drove a bus for 32 years. Then he drove for Robinson Transport in Metropolis for a couple of years. He attended St. John’s Church and was a member of Masonic Lodge #91 in Metropolis. Gary enjoyed mowing, spending time with his family, and enjoyed fellowshipping with his friends at Happy Hearts and Hardees.

Gary is survived by his son, Aaron Webb and wife Rebekah; granddaughters, Mckenna Webb and Calliope Webb; sisters, Janette Flora, Janice Benniger, Pat Winn, and Cindy Purcell; mother-in-law, Edith Fairfield; brother-in-law, Meredith Fairfield and wife Jean; sister-in-law, Marilyn Dassing and husband Raymond; several nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Harve and Doshia (Robertson) Webb; wife of 36 years, Mona L. (Fairfield) Webb; daughter, April Cohoon-Webb; brothers, Terry Webb and Simon Purcell; father-in-law, Robert Fairfield; brothers-in-law, Michael Fairfield and Marvin Fairfield.
