Mr. Gary Paul Shappard, age 61, of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018 at the Metropolis Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Metropolis.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Emmerson officiating. Burial will follow in Pell Cemetery in Brookport, IL.

Gary was a 1976 Massac High School graduate, a US Army Veteran and retired from EEI.

Gary is survived by his wife of 40 years, Barbara; one son, Michael Shappard; two granddaughters, Madison Shappard and Justice Shappard; one sister, Suzanne Sanders; one niece, Sarah Wessell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mary (Kennedy) Shappard; one son, David Wayne Shappard.

Visitation will be held at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home from 12 noon until the 2pm funeral service on Sunday, November 18th.
