Mr. Gary L. Atnip, 69 of Brookport, IL, formerly of Danville, IN, passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN.Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2016 in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Metropolis, IL with Rev. Shalom Renner officiating. Gary was a retired truck driver and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Metropolis.Gary is survived by his wife Bonnie Atnip of Brookport; three daughters, Angela Montez, Leslie Atnip, and Mary Marshall and husband Shane all of Indianapolis, IN; two stepchildren, Melissa Miracle and husband Mike of Broken Arrow, OK and Jason Landrum of Gosport, IN; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Teresa Dimmick and Sharon Atnip; two nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Byron E. and Mary K. (Worthen) Atnip. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 7, at the First United Methodist Church in Metropolis.
