Mrs. Freida Helen (Alley) Barger, age 87 of Brookport, IL peacefully went to be with the Lord with her family by her side at 9:15 pm on Monday, November 18, 2013 at her residence.Graveside services will be held at 1 pm on Friday, November 22, 2013 at the New Liberty Cemetery in Pope County, IL. Rev. Frank Forthman will officiate.Freida was born and raised in Golconda, Illinois on April 26, 1926 to her parents, Roy William and Ethel Bell (Ramsey) Alley. She was a homemaker and had previously worked at Hancock Fabrics in Paducah, KY for several years. She was a member of Waldo Baptist Church and accepted the Lord as her savior at the age of 15. Freida is survived by her husband of 66 years, William Franklin Barger of Brookport, IL; her daughter, Janet Taylor and husband John of Brookport, IL; her two grandsons, Jim Taylor of Bradley, CA and Jeff Taylor of Brookport, IL; her four great grandchildren, Noah Taylor of Metropolis, IL, Faith Taylor, Gracelyn Taylor, and Trinity Taylor all of Lake City, KY; her two sisters, Ruby Alley of Rockford, IL and Evelyn Leonard of Paducah, KY; her brother, James Alley of Indian Trails, NC; and several nieces and nephews.Freida was preceded in death by her parents, Roy William and Ethel Bell (Ramsey) Alley; her two sisters, Margie L. Kluge and Imogene Threlkeld; her two brothers, Otis M. Alley and Charles W.
