Freda Jo Whitnel, 88, of Metropolis passed away at 6:45PM on Tuesday March 21 at home with her family at her side. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis with Jim Faughn and Robert Guinn officiating. Burial will follow in Berea Cemetery in Johnson Co., IL. Mrs. Whitnel was a homemaker and a member of Highway 45 Church of Christ in Metropolis. Freda is survived by her daughter Rochelle Croach and husband Jon, her son Brett and his wife Laurie all of Metropolis, 5 grandsons, a granddaughter, and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. (Bill) Whitnel, her parents, Hillis (Pete) Morgan and Ruth Poe Morgan, and a brother, Bill Morgan.
