Fred Crosier, 83 of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2022 at Baptist Health Paducah.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 17, 2022 in Masonic Cemetery in Metropolis with Bro. Justin Wolfe officiating. There will be no visitation. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Fred was of Baptist faith. He retired as a farrier after 47 years of shoeing. When Fred began his carrier as a farrier, they did not have ready-made horseshoes. So at the age of 16, he became a blacksmith and bent his own shoes. Horses were his life. Fred enjoyed shoeing and riding horses, trail riding, and working with young horses and mules just to name a few and was a member of the American Farrier's Association.

Fred is survived by his daughters, Tammie Crosier and Kim Crosier (Larry Chasteen); two step grandchildren, Jamie Moon and Leslie Kendrick; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Troy Crosier; mother, Irene (Angelly) Dixon; and grandparents, John and Nellie Angelly and Toliver and Ruth Crosier.
