Mrs. Florence E. Konemann, 98, of Metropolis, IL passed away February 2, 2015 at the Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, with her family at her side.Born in Marshall County, Kansas on July 5, 1916, Mrs. Konemann came to Massac County at an early age. She attended the local school system and graduated from Brookport High School in 1934.She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, devoted to her family. Mrs. Konemann worked in many areas, and retired from Massac Unit #1.Florence attended the Brookport Church of God.She is survived by 4 sons, Kenneth Konemann and wife Lois; Allan Konemann and wife Katie; Marvin Konemann and wife Connie; and Gary Konemann and wife Cathy, all of Metropolis, IL. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Lisa Davis and husband Keith of Metropolis, IL; Corey Konemann and wife India of Jackson, TN; Megan Jackson and husband Oliver of Hermitage, TN; Melanie Cantrell and husband Kenny of Cape Girardeau, MO; Travis Konemann and wife Jessica of Brentwood, TN; Melissa Pyron and husband Mitch of Metropolis, IL; and Tristan Urness of Metropolis, IL. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and extended family.She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Grace (McKeeman) Brinker; husband of nearly 40 years, Frank Konemann; brothers and sisters, Betty Vaughn; Ella Marie Merchant; Fred Brinker, Jr.; Dale Brinker; Louise Sisk; Iva Grace Rudolph; and John Brinker.Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Friday, February 6, 2015 at St. John Cemetery on Waldo Church Road. Brother Charles Tate will officiate. There will not be any visitation. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery for the graveside service.Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice or Brookport Church of God, P.O.
