Everett L. Whorton age 89 of Metropolis, IL passed away Saturday August 10, 2013 at the Massac Memorial Hospital at 12:15 p.m. Graveside Memorial services will be Wednesday August 14, 2013 at 12 Noon at the Marshall County Memory Gardens in Benton, KY. with entombment to follow. He is survived by wife, Jean of Metropolis, IL; one daughter, Linda Lee (Bruno) Miller of Apple Valley, MN; three sons Everett. and Stephen (Phyllis) Whorton both of Edgartown, MA and Thomas James (Janice) Whorton of Burna, KY.Step daughter; Zinda (David) Baggett of Metropolis, IL and step son, Jeffrey (Jan) Meyer of Johnston City, IL7 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, step-grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gertrude (Baker) Whorton; his first wife, Helen Whorton, one sister, Elsie Long and brother, Kenneth WhortonHe served in the U.S. Navy during WW II.There will be no visitation, family and friends are asked to go directly to the Cemetery.Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
