Everett W. Purcell, age 67 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 10:08 am on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at his residence.

Graveside services will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Buzzard Roost Cemetery with Steven Iles officiating.

Everett was a retired Union Millwright, of the Church of Christ faith, and an avid fisherman.

Everett is survived by step daughters, DeLane Roehrich and husband Frank, Teresa Iles and husband Steven, Erin Bennett and husband Daniel; 12 grandchildren, Ashley Riehl, Dennis Hooks, Michael Hooks, Jessica Gough, Alyssa Landis, Lacey Roberts, Lilie Roberts, Ethan Roberts, Samuel Roberts, Emily Gourley, Abby Roberts, and Paisley Roberts; 20 great grandchildren.

Everett was preceded in death by his parents, Charles "Pete" and Dorothy (Phillips) Purcell; the love of his life his wife, Stacey Ann (Gowins) Purcell; grandchildren, ChrisDee Jean Gough and Hailey Madison Hooks; son-in-law, Robin Hooks.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Hooks, Frank Roehrich, Shawn Ellis, Lucas Landis, Dave Jeffords, and Troy Riehl.
