Everett Dale Bremer, age 62, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2014.He is survived by his wife, Theresa Stephens-Bremer and their beloved dogs and cats. He is also survived by his two brothers and their wives, Steve and Pam Bremer and Derril and Geneene Bremer, his nephews and nieces and their families, Ben and Jessica Bremer and children, Jason Bremer, Nick and Samantha Bremer, and Erin and Omar Helal, also surviving are numerous Bremer and Horstmann relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ruby Bremer.Everett was born on July 4, 1952, in the old Metropolis Hospital and spent most of his life on the farm where he died. He loved farming. His favorite days were spent on his John Deere tractor or driving around surveying the farm fields in Massac County. The mooing of cattle, the sound of a tractor or a combine, or just the wind rustling through a field of corn was music to his ears. Everett was known as a hardworking, ethical, loyal friend, and farmer. He enjoyed talking farming, politics, and life events with his Huddle House friends. Everett loved hearing the old-time stories of life on the farm and he recalled with nostalgia his grandparent's accounts of their lives in Massac County and became the family historian.Visitation will be held at the Miller Funeral Home on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm and on Saturday from 9 am until the funeral hour at the church.Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the St Stephens Lutheran Church. Pastor Jeff Bremer will officiate.
